Unveiling an Unique Steam Demo: Guiding a Turdy Character on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and players have encountered numerous interesting indie games. However, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure features a hero that is literally a turd striving to navigate to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is simple: press a single jump button. In one hundred fifty levels, encounter boss fights and unlock a shop to acquire outfits for your poop character.

Execute your jumps precisely, as a mistake means starting over. Leap off floating orbs to hurl yourself higher, cross crumbling platforms, and activate switches to unlock new areas. Earn coins and use them on tougher game content where gameplay ramps up.

Graphically, the demo boasts eye-catching level designs and an amazing soundtrack. The retro visual style of moving basic polygons could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's hard to recall other games where you are a piece of feces, interactive entertainment often featured fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from character droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as fertilizer. Naturally, this theme appears extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already earned notable recognition, like being named best at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. The demo is available at present on Steam, with the final release set to launch on Steam on November 19.
