Two Individuals Formally Indicted with Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder after the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
