Hungarian Author László Krasznahorkai Receives Nobel Prize in Literature
László Krasznahorkai has received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The Hungarian writer was honored "due to his gripping and visionary body of work that, amidst end-times dread, confirms the might of literature."
Krasznahorkai has produced five books and garnered many additional writing awards, such as the 2015 Man Booker International Prize, and the 2013's top rendered work honor in Narrative for his debut book Satantango, a contemporary piece about the conclusion of the world.
The writer is the 2nd Hungarian writer to receive the honor following the deceased Imre Kertesz, who was awarded in the year 2002.
Born in 1954, the author gained acclaim in 1985 when he released "Satantango", which he transformed for the movies in 1994.
This b&w drama, by Magyar cinematographer Bela Tarr, is renowned for its 7-hour length.

Nobel committee portrayed the writer as "a exceptional sweeping novelist in the European heritage that spans by way of Franz Kafka to Thomas Bernhard, and is marked by absurdist themes and bizarre excess."
The author's 2021 novel "Herscht 07769" has been labeled as a major modern Deutsch book, because of its precision in depicting the country's societal turmoil right before the global health crisis.
It's a portrayal of a modern village in Thüringen, the Federal Republic of Germany, afflicted by societal anarchy, murder and fire-setting.
"Gentle giant Florian is an ward, adopted by a radical who has trained him as a graffiti eraser.
"His employer, a Johann Sebastian Bach devotee, is incensed that an individual is spraying wolf insignias across the statues to the famed musician in their east German city."
A review remarked it as "therefore grim from start to end."
The writer's newest ironic book, Zsömle Odavan, reverts to the Hungarian setting.
The lead is ninety-one-year-old Uncle Józsi Kada, who has a secret entitlement to the throne but has made every effort to fade away from the globe.
