BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.

Gamers have begun using personalized games made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how grueling these challenges have become.

Grasping BF6 Tasks

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four classes of assignments, but where most only reward cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of acquiring 12 of the 41 main guns found within the game.

A number of these locked weapons could shortly make their appearance on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and only works at very short distances, which is seldom the location you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Extremely Difficult Task

A different forum member pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons

This is challenging enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and possibly a classic map if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.

The Workaround

However, there is a solution: the portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.

However, when completing the missions in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.

Currently, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
